Our Welding Services

At Rutland Fabrication we specialize in Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, known for its versatility and ability to join a variety of metals. Whether you need mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminium welding, we have the expertise to provide strong and clean welds.

Much of our success at Rutland Fabrication as well as our welding services, originate from our attention to detail.  Much of our accountability for attentiveness is emphasized through our standard working practices and procedures. Our process is as follows:

Preparation:

The MIG welding process typically begins with thorough preparation. This includes cleaning the metal surfaces ensuring the  removal of any contaminants, rust, or oils that could affect the quality of the weld.

Equipment Setup:

Rutland Fabrications would set up the welding equipment, including the MIG welding machine, wire feeder, welding gun, and gas supply. In correspondence the appropriate welding wire and shielding gas are selected based on the specific project’s requirements.

Welding Parameters:

Welding parameters such as voltage, wire feed speed, and amperage are set on the welding machine. Moreover, such parameters are adjusted based on the material being welded, considering factors such as its thickness, and the desired weld quality.

Shielding Gas:

The specifically chosen shielding gas, typically either argon or a mixture of argon and carbon dioxide, is released through the welding gun. Subsequently, the gas released creates a protective atmosphere around the welding arc, preventing atmospheric contamination of the weld.

Arc Initiation:

At this time, Rutland Fabrications welding operator activates the welding machine, initiating an electric arc between the wire electrode and the workpiece. This arc generates intense heat, melting the wire and the base metal.

Wire Feeding:

Rutland Fabrications MIG welding machine continuously feeds the wire electrode into the welding arc. As the wire melts, it deposits molten metal onto the workpiece, forming a weld bead.

Welding Technique:

Our seasoned operators at Rutland Fabrication adeptly guide the welding gun along the joint. Meanwhile, our welders maintain precise control over the direction and speed of the weld pool, ensuring a consistent and durable weld.

Cooling:

As the weld progresses, the shielding gas aids in the cooling process, reducing the risk of defects such as porosity for a high-quality finish.

Completion:

Upon completing the weld, our experts perform a thorough quality inspection to guarantee adherence to Rutland Fabrication’s welding services standards.

Your Imagination, Our Steel Reality

What do our laser cutters offer?

Our laser cutters provided by Swift-Cut cater for a combination of both precision and versatility. Furthermore our machines can accurately follow complex designs, whether it be through the medium of steel, aluminium or metal. Ease of use and compatibility are further benefits associated with our machines. In addition, our machines are pre-programmed with user friendly software, nurturing automation.

What industries do we provide for?

A CNC machine, which stands for Computer Numerical Control machine, is a versatile and highly automated manufacturing tool used for a wide range of machining and fabrication tasks. In addition, CNC machines use computer software to interpret digital design files (typically in CAD or CAM formats), thereupon converting these files into precise and automated machining instructions.

What finishes do we offer on your metal products?

In summary, the result of galvanizing eventually concludes in a durable and protective zinc coating. Moreover, this coating forms a barrier between the underlying metal and any corrosive elements in the environment. Simultaneously the zinc coating corrodes sacrificially, therefore diminishing in place of the base metal.

Whereas Powder Coating is a dry finishing process used to apply a durable, protective, and decorative layer of colour. On the whole, powder coating has the ability to be applied to a wide range of metal and non-metal surfaces.

Are all of our products developed in-house?

Rutland Fabrication has a long-standing commitment to delivering custom fabrication solutions for your problems, not to mention producing products with the highest quality. Given these points, to uphold our commitments and corporate values, we choose to manufacture all of our products in-house. Undeniably in-house manufacturing ensures quality control, quality assurance, customization and shorter lead times. Henceforth, demonstrating our intention of striving for continuous improvement.
